What’s the Objective?

Our goal is to encourage Seattle residents to Think Local First! and
support their locally owned businesses by recognizing the personal
and community benefits of choosing local. 

Who’s the Audience?

 Think Local First! speaks to a growing number of concerned
shoppers who want to do their part in keeping their neighborhood and
communities livable, vibrant and unique.

 Think Local First! promotes a growing community of businesses who
care about their customers and their neighborhoods.  These
businesses clearly communicate their passion by participating in 
Think Local First!

How Do Local Businesses Benefit?

Think Local First! businesses benefit by becoming recognizably “local” to consumers who care by using the kit.

How Does the Community Benefit?

Research shows that the most compelling and
motivating reasons for shopping locally have generally
focused on retaining the unique and special character
of hometowns and neighborhoods, as opposed to
becoming "any-town U.S.A."

Research also shows that local businesses give more
money to charity, keep money circulating in the local
economy longer and have deeper community roots
than businesses owned by folks from out of town.
