Connecting Economics with Health and the Environment

Our friends at the Seattle Biotech Legacy Foundation are offering a great opportunity to see economist Dr. Robert Costanza THIS WEDNESDAY EVENING at Town Hall.

Our Health, Our Environment: Making the Link: Connecting Economics with Health and the Environment

Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Town Hall Seattle. Dr. Robert Costanza, professor and director of the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Vermont, will open the series with his lecture, "Principles of Ecological Economics: Guidance for a Sustainable Society".

Dr. Costanza's lecture will take place upstairs in the Great Hall from 7-8:30 p.m. with a reception following. Suggested donation for this first lecture is $5.

2008 Environmental Health Lecture Series

Wednesday's event kicks off a four-part lecture series.  The final three lectures will be held downstairs from 6:30-8:00 p.m., preceded by a reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

February 13, 2008: The Future of the Puget Sound Region: Applying Ecological Economics to Our Area with David Batker, found and director of Earth Economics and Dr. Katherine Davies, director and faculty member of the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University.

March 12, 2008: The Future of Energy: Applying Ecological Economics to Global Issues with Dr. Cutler Cleveland, director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Studies at Boston University.

April 30, 2008: Economics for the 21st Century: Creating a Collective Vision for a Sustainable Future with Dr. Joshua Farley, professor of Community Development and Applied Economics at the Gund Institute at the University of Vermont.
