SUMMARY:Catalyzining the Energy of Business for Sustainability

DESCRIPTION:The Seattle Climate Partnership, BALLE Seattle, the Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability  (NBIS), and the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Committee and many companies  are showing that business can be a powerful driver of prosperity within a framework of sustainability.





This hands-on workshop will bring together business leaders working toward sustainability within their  organizations and for the Cascadia region and beyond. The opening panel includes Derek Hoshiko,  BALLE Seattle; Kevin Wilhelm, Sustainable Business Consulting; Karl Ostrom, NBIS and a representative  from ShoreBank Pacific. A checklist for businesses based on David Suzuki’s nine principles for  sustainability will be presented. Participants will help identify ways to augment existing efforts and  prioritize the highest leverage points for businesses to take action at this time.
